The Pollening (and Spring Market) are Here

Anyone else have crazy allergies this spring? It's almost like all this pollen in the air is a metaphor for the current state of the world... There's a lot going on, and while we may not have a crystal ball, we have allergy medicine and echinacea to help us combat the allergies. We've had people call us who may or may not be in flux, and that's okay, we're happy to talk about all options when it comes to real estate.

Real estate hates uncertainty, and the last few weeks we have had plenty of it. While things look like they are settling down a little bit, we are now in a new unpredictable housing market. It does not look like we are getting any help with interest rates this year, and certainly not in the near future. We are still in a low inventory market. Currently, we have just under 3 months of inventory around the Triangle, and a healthy market is a 4-6 months supply.

Buyers are also more timid in this market; some are slower to make a decision while others are on a temporary pause while world events shake out.

If you live in Chatham, Durham or Orange county, you may have questions about the upcoming tax re-evaluation. It may be sticker shock, but the first question you should be asking is "can I sell my house for this price?". If yes, then it's okay! If you don't think your house would sell at that price, or you think there's been a miscalculation, let us know and we can talk about it.

There is a lot of noise in the world right now, but our commitment to our clients remain the same. We promise to be honest, true to both your needs and best interests, and we're not letting that yellow haze get in our way!
