This year, the BOLD community helped put more books into the hands of children across Chatham County.

Through our children’s book collection benefiting Chatham Reads and the Chatham Education Foundation, BOLD Real Estate served as a local drop-off location and collected 241 donated children’s books from our clients, team members and community.

Those books were part of an even larger community effort. Local business partners collected 5,972 books, helping Chatham Reads distribute 11,533 books to children throughout Chatham County this year.

The donated books reach children in a variety of ways throughout the community. Little Free Libraries in neighborhood parks provide free access to books close to home, while shelves at CORA Food Pantry locations in Pittsboro and Siler City allow families to choose books alongside their groceries. Books are also distributed through SNACK! and summer feeding sites, community events, the Youth Development Center, teachers and local service providers.

We’re grateful to everyone who dropped off a book at BOLD and helped contribute to this year’s impact. A single donated book may seem small, but together, these contributions are helping thousands of local children have greater access to books of their own.

Thank you to Chatham Reads and the Chatham Education Foundation for the work they do to support literacy throughout our community. We’re proud to play a small part and look forward to continuing to support local children and families.
